MOJO Jazz Jambalaya: Alvin King & The Fifth K'Nection Band

Guitarist Bill Coleman begins at 6 p.m. The Fairhope musician has a resume that includes gigs with Blue Mitchell and Stanley Turrentine among others and earned raves from Downbeat Magazine’s Leonard Feather. He appeared with symphonic ensembles and pop stars like Marilyn McCoo, The Drifters, Nell Carter and many others.

Alvin King and the Fifth K’Nection Band take the stage next. The quintet are firmly in the Post-Bop vein with material that ranges from Chick Corea, Dizzy Gillespie, and Theloni
